Greatlakes Outdoor was built for the kind of people who can't sit still on a weekend. The kind who throw a pack in the trunk on Friday afternoon, chase a trailhead on Saturday, and still wake up early enough for sunrise coffee from a camp mug. We started this shop because finding outdoor gear that actually holds up to real trips, from first-time campers to experienced thru-hikers, was harder than it should be.

Our team is small, our focus is specific, and the gear we carry reflects that.

Every backpack, tent, sleeping bag, and pair of boots in our lineup is handpicked. We look for equipment that works on the trails our customers actually use: the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, weekend loops in the Smokies, backcountry routes through the Rockies, and yes, the lake country that gave our name its nod to American outdoor culture.

If gear doesn't earn its place through real performance, it doesn't end up in the store.
